As projects like 51 Jay Street, The Brooklyn Grove, and Galerie show, developer Adam America Real Estate and designer ODA New York make quite a dream team. Their latest collaboration, Five Six One Pacific in Boerum Hill, has just launched sales. The brick and iron work of the building’s façade honors the borough’s past craftsmanship.
However, interior designer Ryoko Okada, ODA Director of Interior Architecture and a native of Japan, has incorporated Japanese aesthetics as well as the concept of wabi sabi, or perfect imperfection, to the interiors. The wooden slat screen at the entrance shows a clear divide between the busy world outside and peace on the inside. The light-filled lobby is adjacent to a private courtyard reminiscent of home gardens in Japan.
The concept of wabi sabi applies to the apartments as well, which are enhanced by raw natural materials. All 63 units are filled with light from oversized windows and outfitted with bespoke finishes and fixtures. Custom kitchens come equipped with state-of-the-art appliances, stainless steel cabinetry, and oak flooring. Master baths are defined by cool stone and understated geometry. Select units have private terraces.
In addition to the courtyard, building amenities include a light-filled fitness center, children’s playroom, and lounge opening to the courtyard. The crowning glory is a roof deck with lounging and dining areas. Five Six One Pacific is just up the street from the multitude of subway lines at the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center stop. Close to home, it is a short walk from Barclays Center, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Atlantic Terminal Mall, and popular restaurants and stores.
According to an accepted offering plan, an $83.75 million sellout is projected for the building. Studios start at $550K, a one-bedroom is listed for $875K, two-bedrooms start at $1.425 million, and a three-bedroom is listed for $2.35 million. At an average price of $1,400 per square foot, Five Six One Pacific is above the Boerum Hill condo average of $1,210 per square foot (per CityRealty data).
